CSM capability summary

Two solution methodologies for CSM are available in PHYSICA 3.00, namely finite element (FE) and vertex-based finite volume (FV). The main difference between the two approaches is the positioning of the integration points, which in the FE approach uses Gauss quadrature.

In summary PHYSICA 3.00 provides the following functionality for CSM:

Choice of solution strategies

  • FE
  • Vertex-Based FV

Linear elastic analysis

Plasticity

  • Perzyna model
  • Von Mises yield criterion
